Amundsen - lost satnav and bluetooth

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, this is my first post so please be gentle!

I've had by 2014 plate Octavia III since new and never had any issues previously. Last week, I got in my car to go to work as usual and once I got on my way, I realised that the Amundsen screen was completely blank while turned off. It usually shows an analogue clock face. I've also realised that my satnav no longer works (it just says "starting navigation" and gets no further) and my bluetooth is also no longer working (I get the message "telephone not available").

I've got no idea what has caused this, and thought it might've been down to the cold weather a few weeks ago. Now the weather's warmed up, I've seen no change.

Has anyone experienced similar problems? I have a nasty feeling it's going to be an expensive trip to the dealer (out of warranty)...

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Edit: I've now got the clock back on. I hadn't realised there was a tick box to show the clock on standby. The more i think about it, the more I think the system must've reset itself as my radio station presets had gone too so I had to set them all up again.

So, standby clock sorted but bluetooth and satnav are still not working.

Hey havrosh

I did get it sorted in the end. The head unit (the part in the glovebox with the cd player etc in it) was knackered. My car was out of warranty but as it's only ever been serviced etc at the main dealer, Skoda offered to pay 90% of the cost. I think the part was around £1100. I wouldn't have bothered fixing it if I'd had to pay that myself though. If your car is still under warranty, get it to a dealer asap as it's definitely a warranty-covered part.

Hope that helps!!

Great. Thanks for the hint.

My car is 6 months old.

Week ago, I was in service center, they checked my car, made video as a proof and sent it to Mlada Boleslav (Skoda's HQ)... so I have to wait for the result
