Heres 1 for you lovley lot. My car doesent have the sd card for the on board satnav. Am I correct in thinking there's a sd card and a cd, just a cd or just the sd card?

What year is your car ?

it's on a 63 plate and it was regerstered on December 2013

Mine does the same, after it went in for a service and an update

Crazy! Mine didn't come with any sd cards with the car!

Any one know how much the sd card and or cd or both cost?

SD card is all you need, goes in glovebox slot. You MUST use a genuine Skoda one though.

Was it a private sale? Contact the seller - they may still have it. If it was a dealer I'd insist they sort it.

Genuine Skoda SD cards from a dealer cost a fortune, get a genuine one off eBay - I got 2 (one in use with the current maps plus a backup with the previous maps) for around £40 each which is a fraction of the cost from a Skoda dealer.

Cheers Sw. I'm just after a price form the dealer spending money.

Try Briskoda parts (Mike). Anytime I've ever needed a part from a dealer, he's always beaten my local on price and he's a top bloke too.

Top man

If you got it from a second hand car dealer (even a non Skoda dealer), unless told that the nav didn’t work beforehand, I would be insisting that they ‘fix’ the nav.  Without the SD it’s not fit for purpose and you have your consumer rights to fall back on.  Also, insist on a Skoda card and don’t be fobbed off.

With an Amundsen anything other than a Skoda SD card won't work - it has to have the buried security data to be recognised as map data.

Totally agree. The 2015-enacted Consumer Rights Act should help.

Depending on the dealer though, this may be an uphill battle as they will not be keen to shell out £000’s.

You should give it a go though. Most dealers these days are very wary of being ‘named and shamed’ on a website such as this as the posts will never go away - anytime anyone searches for their garage, the post will show up.

Good luck whatever you decide to do!

I bought a second hand one off ebay works fine.

Cheers for the replys guys. Ive already got 2 satnavs but I'm looking at getting the car 1 working! Just the small matter of finding out the dealer cost of one! :)
