VRS 2010 Facelift Bolero Upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Ive searched the forum but haven't seen any definite answers on a recent unit, so hoping I can get some help here.

2010 Facelift Octavia VRS with Bolero unit as standard.

I'd like to upgrade to a unit that will support carplay - basically an easy way to play podcasts and have sat nav on the display.

Does anyone know of a unit that will do all of the above and still retain climate control and rear parking displays?

I've been looking at an Alpine ILX700 which seems to offer all these things - but its quite expensive and still not 100% sure if it will integrate properly and how much installation would be involved.

Any recommendations or advice most welcome!

Thanks for the quick reply Craig - much appreciated.

That looks great - around the top of my budget, but much better to go for something tried and trusted rather than some of the units I've seen on Aliexpress etc.

Did you fit this yourself - is it more or less plug and play with the correct harness, or would it need to taken to a auto electrician?

Thanks again for your help.

Thanks again Craig - I see Halfords have this unit on offer for £299 as well, which makes it even more tempting!

Just to clarify Craig - is it the Alpine ILX007 you have?

Ive mistakenly thought you had the SPH-DA120 due to the fitting kit link, which I now realise is multi radio compatible.

I contacted a local firm who have said the interface alone to display system messages on the SPH-DA120 is £159 which got me worried.

Are they just charging too much or is this something I just hadn't taken into consideration?!

I had planned on getting the SPH-DA120 from eBay, and a fitting kit including fascia and harness from Dynamic Sounds (£56.99 for fascia, harness and all fittings).

I thought this would be all I needed and fairly straight forward, but now I'm not so sure!

Any help to clarify would be much appreciated.
