Please Help - Oct vRS gone Tech again....

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

I've only had my vRS a month now and looks like it's thrown a wobbly again. :( :thumbdwn:

Started it this morning and in all gears below about 2800 rpm it's got a huge juddery vibration, like it's missing a cylinder (at least one!) Very down on power and very slow.

Above 3000 rpm it's smoother, but down on power in a massive way, I reckon on about 50% power.

The orange engine management light on the dashboard is blinking on and off, quoting the manual - 'a problem with the engine management computer or exhaust/emissions systems'. Anyone had this?

Thanks

Coil pack failure........A trip to the dealer me thinks.

That sprang to my mind too.

On an 02-plate second (or third) hand car, should I be able to get a coil pack change under a recall?

Sorry, I'm new to this 1.8T lark, must be old hat to you guys!

Cheers for the quick reply.

You won't get it done under a recall but if you talk your dealer nicely they may change all of them free of charge.

Thanks, I'll try taking it down first thing tomorrow. At least the thing still drives!

Keep useage to an absolute minimum or you will need a new cat.
