Hi, I'm looking for some help with my head lamps on my 2011 MKII.

 

It appeared that the passenger side headlamp began to flicker. Eventually it went out. This would repeat if I redrove the car. Eventually the bulb failed.

Brought a new bulb and instantly had the same problem. Swapped the bulbs over in left and right headlamp to see if problem would follow.

Problem remained in the passenger side.

The head lamp still comes on but again it starts flickering and then around twenty minutes latter it goes out and the car tells you a bulb has gone.

 

With the bulb gone out I have run VCDS with the following faults shown for the headlamps which is 00987.

As per Ross Tech, a faulty connection / wiring.

 

The flickering supports this theory.

 

If you can't see any obvious corrosion or thread bare wires it'll be time to find a trusted local auto electrician...
