Second service, No reversing screen or Radio

Featured Replies

Ooops! spoke too soon, moved the car this morning and there is no radio and no reversing screen!

the sensors still work though. The service records the battery as being good. What now?

Take it back as it is still under warranty

Did the radio still work if you switched it on even though there was nothing on the screen? The same thing has happened to quite a few people and with mine! General "cure" is to switch off everything, remove the key, wait 10 seconds then reinsert key and start up as normal. Usually this cures it but once I had to wait till I had driven a few miles before going through the switch off/key out procedure. It only does it very occasionally so hardly worth a special trip to the dealer but will certainly raise it at next service. I read in another forum that there is a software fix for this that the dealer can install.

No radio no reversing screen although the bumper sensors still sounded. Today I drove around a dozen miles

and as I reversed onto the drive, the screen came into operation as did the muted radio.

I contacted the dealer and booked the car in for tomorrow, having explained what happened and that I charge

the battery when the car is not in use with a CeTek 5amp charger. They collect it tomorrow a.m.

Similar thing happened to me where going into reverse seemed to freeze the radio unit. Fixed it by stopping and putting it into reverse again after switching the car off. A few others on here have had similar and found nothing, and the dealers found nothing. One person had it reoccur after replacing the radio unit too. So it might be a random glitch.

Will be interesting to see if your dealers find anything

There was one occasion in mine where the reverse screen failed to appear. Turned off, took key out then reinserted and started car again and all worked.

Seems to be a software glitch and occasionally car doesn’t boot up correctly.

On previous car sometimes items were missing on maxi dot. Then back again next restart.

Hasn't it been mentioned that there is an up-date for this that the dealer can download at service?

Happened again this morning when temperatures overnight were below freezing, thinking back it was particularly cold when it happened before so could it have anything to do with low temperatures?
