Staying with Skoda

Featured Replies

Just placed an order for our replacement to the Octavia 1.4 TSI SE estate we've had new (from stock) since June 2015.

Gone for another Octy estate - the 1.5 SE technology, in Race Blue (again), with privacy glass, sports steering wheel, winter pack, rear heated seats + USB, tow hook and spare wheel. Going for a 3 year PCH this time - it's over £100 a month cheaper than PCP, and that would have been the SE, so no ACC, satnav or front parking sensors.

We did consider a 4 year lease as well: although it was cheaper per month, by the time a 4th year's warranty, another service, MOT and at least 2 tyres were factored in, there wasn't much in it.

We looked at the Leon ST in top spec Xcellence trim as well. Really good deals there on PCH at the moment, but boot space was less than the Octy (length was important for us to get a large brass instrument in lengthways) and my wife found the sides of the sports seats very uncomfortable. Our son felt cramped in the back compared to the Octy.

So, looking forward to another 3 years of Race Blue Octavia driving. If it's as uneventful as it's been so far I'll be happy.

is this from skoda dealer? do you mind me asking what downpayment there was?

The occty is fab for lower brass players

I get cornet, tenor horn, awkward shaped French horn, baritone horn and euphonium. With associated stands in the boot of the estate.

Then room for the players.

Indeed! My E flat bass goes in lengthways, with a bari, two cornets and room to spare for Tesco on the way home. Just wouldn't have worked in the Leon.

Doesn’t beat one of my band B flat basses taking his instrument around in the front seat of his mk1 mini.

Also at the time the soprano cornet player had a Volvo XC90. Smallest instrument in the band in the biggest car in the band.
