EPC and ESP light, brake light switch replaced, no difference

Hello, Ive got a Skoda Fabia 2009. 1.2 Manual.

Out of nowhere came the ESP light came on(only ESP no ABS light), a few seconds later the EPC light came on. As as result, the throttel respons became irregular. After a while of driving the throttle respons was back to normal but the two lights were still on.

I have had this fault for a week now and sometimes when I start the car its only the ESP light and no EPC and the throttle response is okay. However, recently the are both on most often and the throttle respons is irregular.

I have noticed that when I start the car and have the brake pedal depressed, the ESP light does not come on. When I release the brake pedal it does.

Ive read out the fault codes with an aftermarket reader specified for VAG cars. It gives me the fault codes:
16955 Brake light switch (F): Implausible signal: P0571
00526 Brake light switch

Everything so far points at a faulty Brake light switch (the brake lights have always worked, and I know there are circuits in the switch).

I replaced the brake light switch with an OEM from Skoda dealer but the issue remains with the same fault codes.

EDIT: Fuses also checked, at least the ones I could find related to these systems.


Any Ideas what to do next or what the problem may be?
