Sidelights

Hi Folks 

Hope someone can help I’ve come across a slight problem in my mums 65 plate 10 mpi se 

The sidelights won’t activate when the ignition goes on .

And when ignition off the sidelights illuminate 

The dash binicale only lights up with the lights on although all the other dash illuminates .

what am I missing folks .

ive not seen the car yet just looking for a head start .

When you ignition on, do you mean when you turn the key past "battery" position, just before starting, or do you when the engine is running?
