SE Technology - panoramic sunroof?

Featured Replies

Several 'news' articles have been published today citing the launch of the Karoq SE Technology (e.g. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/skoda/karoq/102496/new-skoda-karoq-se-technology-targets-business-users).  Within all of these articles it suggests that the panoramic sunroof comes as standard on the SE Technology.  The Skoda UK configurator lists this as an expensive option, and I've not seen it listed anywhere else before today as being standard.

Does anyone know whether this is included or not?  I have an SE Technology which was built last week so should be with me at the end of February and I wasn't expecting a sunroof (although it isn't necessarily a problem!).

The pano roof is not included on UK SE Tech models.

Thanks, I didn't think it was.  It looks like whoever wrote the press release and sent it out didn't check it in enough detail!

Experiencing the quality of Skoda UK's proof reading (eg 4 different price/specification lists since launch in October and still there are errors) the apparent inclusion of the sunroof may well be an error within the media release.  However, whilst the configurator currently does not show the sunroof to be a standard feature on the SE Tech I wouldn't rule it out as a possible addition to attract further sales.

There is a new price list effective as from tomorrow (although no changes to prices it seems) but the SE Tech is not listed at all, so no clues as to the spec without going on the web site.

The SE Tehnology comes with a few extra toys but a panaromic sunroof is not one of them (yet). It's not available with Skoda finance either.

[edit] Comparing spec sheets seems to add adaptive  cruise control, front/rear parking,  Amunsden satnav

I doubt (like the Yeti) that the sun-roof will be made standard on any other models other than the top of the range.

I’d probably have had an Edition but don’t want the sun-roof so was going to up-spec. an SE L or maybe an SE Tech. But if they start fitting sun-roofs to those I’m out and will look elsewhere.

Could it be a fleet only spec - the articles seem to be aimed at fleets?

Years ago Ford and then Vauxhall put sunroofs into sales reps Sierras and Cavaliers.  Was quite a big deal at the time.

Much more recently Mercedes had "Business Edition" cars.

The SE Technology specification is designed for fleet drivers. It's only available for cash purchases or those buying through personal contract hire/leasing. The deals on PCH a few months ago were exceptionally attractive and the SE Technology specification is the same list price as SE but with more features.

I don’t really get the SE And SE Technology being priced the same if one has more equipment, in my mind why choose the one with less equipment.  Actually why make two versions.

In my mind it is like going to buy a burger, then discovering burger and fries is same price.  If you didn’t want the fries you feel ripped off.  SE buyers must have same feeling of being ripped off.

Indeed - hence why I went for an SE Technology!

I hope it hasn't got a sunroof as opening ones reduce headroom, I had fixed glass one on my Roomster and the cover was never opened, I'm a slap head, what do I want with all that sun, I'd look like a Swan Vesta!

Young kids absolutely love them though - our granddaughter can't for the life of her understand why my wife swapped her Jazz (with fixed glass roof) for a Tiguan (without one).  She keeps asking if we can get it back (our son-in-law has it now)!
