Petrol blue and emerald green on back order

Featured Replies

Ordered a 1.5 TSI sel dsg today. Was undecided between emerald green and cappuccino beige. Was told emerald green and petrol blue were both on back order with deliveries not expected until after June. So went ahead with cappuccino, plus beige leather, space saver spare wheel and rubber mats and mud flaps to be fitted by dealer. Hoping for late April delivery, but awaiting dealer confirmation.

Never heard of a particular colour paint running out and not expected for 4 months before.   Petrol blue (sometimes called lava blue) is used on a number of models so 4 months of unavailablity seems unlikely.

Emerald Green is new (have any actually been delivered in green yet?) so might be a delayed start.

Interestingly if you look at configurators for other European countries, some other colours exist, eg another white on Spanish version (candy, laser and moon white)

I can assure you SurreyJohn that supply issues do exist for automobile paints. I've also experienced it with Mercedes AMG. It may be due to supply issues, reformulation etc.

I don't believe Emerald Green is on backorder as here's one in a showroom in Perth today.

Presumably produced before the shortage. I was simply letting the forum know what I had been told by the dealer.

In Denmark Lava Blue and Businesses Grey is on back order, i change my Karoq to Quartz Grey metallic instead. so expect build date week 10/11 is still possible (delivery not late than week 15).

That green looks lovely , shame the wife has got a hang up about green cars :crying:

anybody got got a picture of emerald green karoq in the daylight outside ?

Took this pic last month just after I'd tried the 19in wheeled version across the forest - you can still see the mud

Cheers for the picture boiled beef , how did it drive on the 19" wheels

It drove over level, rutted ground very well - better than my 4x4 Yeti with 17" wheels on the same  rough tracks

  • 1 month later...

Just bought one today and had offer on another emerald green

Green looks absolutely lovely, but if the paint is anything like my first Subaru's (very similar green), then it will be a scratch and swirl magnet.

Anyone managed to get touch-up for the Emerald Green? I can't find a sticker anywhere with a code on ...
