I'm Mikebro, a retired engineer living in rural Aberdeenshire, and have just  bought an ex-demo (50 miles) pre-face lift Octavia SE 2.0 litre diesel Estate 4 x 4 from the Aberdeen Skoda dealer. It's to replace a 2005 Subaru Legacy Estate I have had for eight years. I hope the Skoda will be as dependable! It will have to keep going for a long time as I don't change my cars very often. Because of this, I am not used to all the computer driven gizmos which appear to be standard now on a new or nearly new car. I expect to be asking a few stupid questions on the relevant forum!

Welcome along, hard to go wrong with a diesel Octavia.  I think it should be a very good replacement for the Subaru
