Superb 1.6tdi

Featured Replies

Hi, just an enquiry, i currently run a 2015 octavia 1.6tdi and it is almost at VT point and have been looking at Superbs. A dealer not far from me, well 30 miles away!, has got a 4 month old Superb est 1.6tdi SE at a decent price.

My question is how does the 1.6 tdi engine cope in the superb? In my octavia it is 105bhp and it does what it needs to do, but can be a bit of an effort to do overtakes if needed, sometimes you need to have a good run up!

I know in the superb it is 120bhp but with the superb being a bigger car, just wondered how the engine coped, and if it feels powerful enough.

i know my best bet is to maybe pop in for a test drive, but thought i'd ask for any owners opinions before going for 60 mile round trip.

Thanks, Stuart.

I had a Mk2 Greenline FL with the 105hp engine. It was surprisingly perky and personally never felt it to be under powered.

Overtaking on A and B class roads just required decent planning.

On a motorway the car had plenty of power.

I guess it all depends what you want from your car.

Good luck.
