Hope for 1.5 TSI 4x4?

Featured Replies

Looks like 1.5 TSI engine will soon be available in the Kodiaq with 4x4 as an option. Perhaps this will filter through to the Karoq too?

Not sure what to do. Given the lengthy delivery times for a 1.5 TSI DSG in Petrol Blue I'm tempted to wait it out a few months to see if 4x4 appears as an option. Who knows, perhaps they might even introduce a trim that doesn't have the foldable tables as standard. This could all be wishful thinking though, hopefully someone from Skoda reads these forums and modifies the UK spec Karoq lineup just for me :tongueout:

That was a similar thought I had but I ultimately went for the 4x2 and plan to fit Winter tyres over the colder months.  From what I've seen a 4x2 with winter tyres does almost as good as a 4x4 with regular tyres in snow and in the end I couldn't justify the price difference in the 4x4 vehicle. Plus the 4x4 still needs winter tyres to be fully effective in cold weather.   And in reality I wouldn't need 4x4 as I'm not a farmer.

re 4x4 versus 4x2. Not had a problem with snow etc here in deepest Hampshire since I bought the kids toboggans about 10 years ago

There is no guarantee that if Skoda introduce a petrol 4x4 that Skoda UK will allow it to come to UK

There has been (and still is) tsi engined Octavia 4x4 in Europe which Skoda UK have never sold in UK

For reasons that remain a mystery the decisions are made by those who don’t actually go and spend their own hard earned cash at a dealer, so need to try and value what they would like or next few years, but by those who are given new car every few months so don’t care as wont be keeping it beyond few months.

The 1.5 TSI EVO 150 ps AWD Manual & DSG will be very important to the VW Group for use in many models.

These will be an important engine for them as will be the 1.0 TSI with or without light hybrid.

But then from September 2018 those will need the Real World Co2 g/km test results and no dodgy test results like some past VW, Audi, SEAT 7 even Skoda's.

It will not be long until VW Group do need to revise the Engines / Drivetrains for BREXIT UK.

As it is what the Republic of Ireland and rest of Europe / EU gets compared to what is imported into the UK, the UK has been testing VW vehicles since 2016 that are imported, and VW Group paid 1.1 Million pound towards that.

The Implausible / irregular results of EU testing submitted by manufacturers should be done with by 2019.

Lengthy delivery times????

I have ordered a 1.5 TSi in petrol blue and my car is BW 11, delivery late march or early April.  :wondering:

Sounds good! But there are also posts suggesting delivery dates in June/July.

I'm going to take a look at the Volvo XC40 and BMW X2, and then probably order a Karoq in any case - heh.
