Trim on door pillars peeling off

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've got a base-spec Fabia II and the door B pillars have some kind of plastic coating on them instead of being solid plastic.

With sunlight exposure, motorway driving etc. the plastic is now peeling off. It's pretty minor at the moment but it is getting worse over time.

Has anyone else had this problem, and does anyone know how much it might cost to fix?

Cheers!

Hi this is covered in a post  listed as "replacement door pillar trim".  If you look in the forum, you will see this problem already highlighted and the cost etc of new vinyl trims.

It is quite a common issue with many brands of vehicle who use these sticky trims. they usually use them, in black, as a way of making the roof hight/profile of the car appear lower, psychologically. Kind of an optical illusion. The black panel makes it seem like the roof is lower so the vehicle appears less bulky as many modern cars are taller then you realise. Great for headroom, not so great aesthetically.
