Crazy performance claims

Featured Replies

Recently, Car magazine quoted the Bugati Veyron as "faster than Michael Schumachers current F1 car". Where on earth did they test this car ?

I have performance figures from Renault F1 as follows -

0 - 200kph - 4.7 sec

0 - 300kph - 9.1 sec

200 - 0 - 2.3 sec (reaction not included)

300 - 0 - 4.1 sec (reaction not included)

Fair enough, this is not for the Ferrari, but surely it would have very similar performance figures.

Maybe Schuey's current car is without an engine?

Its quick - I think it does 0-100 in 4.5/5 seconds, wheras 200kph is about 125mph.... Its almost as quick I guess, but some way off still. Would like to see a Veyron out corner an F1 car. :D

Did they say in which aspect it was faster? May just have a higher top end terminal speed? I can't see a road car out-accelerating, out-braking or out-cornering a 500kg F1 car (especially if the F1 car is driven by Michael Schumacher!)

Ahhh...words...by "faster" I thought they meet top speed which Veyron would be as most F1 cars a limited by the gearing per circuit.

Don't think many of them top 250mph.

F1s are definately "quicker" though....if you know what I mean.;)

It like saying Rally Cross cars are quicker than F1 cars....they are upto a certain speed but a limited on outright top speed.

It like saying Rally Cross cars are quicker than F1 cars...

Would imagine on a bumpy surface they would be! :D
