Xtreme alloys

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a set of the amazing xtreme alloys for my vrs which is race blue. I have a kerbed alloy and after seeing the price to fix one I am thinking about powder coating them.

Has anyone changed the colour of theres?

Would appreciate pics etc or just advice so that I don’t choose a colour that will make the car look horrible.

Regards.

Richie.

I changed mine from standard silver to gloss black. I wish I had of had powder coating over a refurb and spray as the finish would be better, also mine were in a bad way with a lot of corrosion but the guy who refurbed and sprayed didn't think it would be much of an issue. It was and upon close inspection they are not an amazing finish.

Also in my opinion don't get gloss, it's a pain to keep clean and smear free. I think when I buy some new ones I will also go for a very, very dark grey. Just short of black but not actually black, like an anthracite grey or something similar.

Wow, what a transformation. I think I am going to go for matt black. Don’t think I dare try anything to extravagant.

Thank you, I like black alloys. Even with matt black dirt and brake dust will show up quickly.

I bought some "poorboys wheel sealant" and applied it with 3 coats, since then they get less dirty and are easy to clean.  A worthy investment and application, only needs doing every 3-6 months.
