Hello everybody. I joined this forum yesterday and finally sorted out my registration problems so I can post messages.

I've been driving a Skoda Fabia Comfort for around 8 months and despite my initial lack of enthusiasm I was pleasantly surprised by it. It was only going to be a short term replacement as it's too small and uncomfortable for long journeys and doesn't have the speed or flexibility I need, especially with only 64bhp. At the end of the month I shall be picking up a new Octavia vRS and that will definitely suit my needs for a good few years.

I'm not the most mechanically knowledgable person as I only became interested in cars in the last couple of years but I've learnt a lot since then and hope you guys will help me out with future questions I may have. This is also the first car forum I have joined so do forgive me if I ask some dumb questions - the FAQ is lacking in content at the moment.

Don't worry about asking dumb questions, even the most knowledgable briskodians havre mental blanks now and then ! (that doesn't include me, I'm dumb all of the time )

You will find most of your skoda questions have been asked and answered at some time, the site has been very helpful for me, and well worth the 12 quid it costs to join freedom.

Get yourself used to the "advanced search" on here - it will prove invaluable If you cant find what you want there, dont worry about it and ask the question.

My main desire when I get the new car is to replace and upgrade the in car entertainment, primarily with a new mp3/aac headunit. I already have one but you expect plenty of questions around getting and fitting a new fascia, speakers, amplifier, subwoofer etc.
