19's on a Scout?

Featured Replies

Hi

We get our new (to us) scout in a few days and would like to change the alloys.  I've been looking at 19 inchers for the summer wheels (I've already got some Genuine BBS CH028's with winter tyres) - likely something from Audi / VW like the ones in the ebay link below:

Www.willtheyfit.com suggests they will go on fine and poke out a tiny bit more which I imagine would bring the outside edge closer to the outside edge of the plastic arches.  Can anyone suggest any issues before I actually go and get some?

Cheers

Matt

Willtheyfit suggests they'll poke out 29mm more, which is quite a bit, especially if you consider the tyres are a size bigger too. Lots of people on here have put spacers on their vRS's, but only 10mm up front and 15mm rear.

Before shelling out a decent chunk of cash I'd park with one wheel up a kerb (brings tyre closer to arch), and get the tape measure out and make sure you can get 15mm extra radius and 29mm wider.

I think the offset will be too much for your arches to handle and the wheels will stick out.

Also, you will struggle to get a Skoda centre cap that fits an Audi rim...of that would bother you?
