Software Update Already - WTF?

Featured Replies

In local dealer today for another reason and the man had to punch in my registration number in order to serve me.

He asked “is your car with us today”?

No it isn’t - just give me the bits I want.

Have you booked in for the Software Update”.

When I quizzed him, it seems those of us with old banger 2017 models now need a softeware update to bring the engine software up to date. For fuelling system I think he said.

When he asked if I wanted to book it in I said No Chance.

It’s not due it’s first flexible service for another 10,100 miles or 392 days according to the “system”.

why would you not want the up to date software

Ever heard the phrase... If it aint broke, dont fix it?

It'll probably have its updates done as part of the standard servicing anyway :)

Skoda don't have a great reputation for their emissions / fuel system updates, don't think I'd be rushing back yet either.
