My octavia vrs is in the garage and they have said they are replacing the recirculation valve can anyone tell me what this is please.

Operates when the throttle valve is closed to divert the air from the turbo back into the suction side of the turbo.

 

Basically protects the turbo

Ok cool if this was faulty would it cause a hesitation?

They do wear out and can leak so could cause lower power.
