Are Mk 2 Fabia's prone to door leaks?

Featured Replies

Good afternoon, this is my 1st post on this excellent forum. I read with interest, the problem many Mk 1 Fabia owners have experienced with door leaks, particular the rear ones.

What I am curious about is whether this problem affects the Mk 2 models as well. I have only owned my 2013 model for a couple weeks & have driven through some torrential rain in that time & have been fortunate enough to not experience any problems so far. I keep checking the floors but everything seems to be bone dry. A work colleague of mine has a 2006 Mk 1 & he has had to carry out the (much documented) job of sealing both doors with sealant to cure the problem - as well as remove the carpets to get everything dried properly.

Guess i'm just being paranoid as i'm new to Skodas but would welcome opinions.

Welcome.

Not prone to door seal leaks.

Just take care of people leaning on the seal from the door to the roof and bending that, there is someplace some water gets in.

Then there is water that gets to seal as needs the door to open to let the H2o out.

So if it is icy, then thaws, and maybe you use warm water to clear the side glass, be sure to open the passengers door to let out he water before it can freeze.

Thank you for that. I have just had a look at the seals on top of the doors & fortunately they look OK.
