Remapping

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. Wow at the features on this forum; i just got a notification for being mentioned in a post! Cheers Ken.

I don't work for Emerald as such but my Caterham goes there for mapping, as it runs an Emerald ECU, various engine specs and I'm only in the next county over. And I seem to change engines in it more often than I change my pants...

R-tech in Nuneaton mapped my 1.8T vRS and will be doing my 2.0 TSI in the future. For a mainly road car retaining the standard ECU, it's most cost-effective option in my opinion, at £400-odd i think it is nowadays. An Emerald or other aftermarket ECU will be well into four figures once you've bought it, wired it in and mapped it on a dyno. You could also consider Shark and their STS unit, which means you can apply and remove maps yourself, although this way doesn't use a rolling road for custom calibration to your car.
