Bodywork - Dints & Chips!

Featured Replies

Good Afternoon,

I recently bought a fabia and have washed it today for the first time, when I have I have noticed stone chips/dints in the car. Unfortunately it looks like the previous owner has used a pen from halfords to "touch it up" and got the wrong colour... yikes!

Can anyone recommend anyone who would be able to sort these?

Thanks in advance, have a nice weekend :)

The car needs a really good clean, detar, and decontamination. Iron remover and clay bar. It'll look a hell of a lot better and then you'll get a real feel for the state of the paintwork. Once you fall into the rabbit hole of detailing it's a very expensive, time consuming, yet ultimately rewarding journey. :D

There's a a chap in Mansfield. Paul Walker. He runs PWPro. They'll do the detail. He aint cheap. I don't think he does paint repairs but he'll know someone who does.

Can't work out where that damage is on the top picture........  looks like the panel has been bent and the paint has cracked.  That's not going to be a cheap/easy fix, possible a complete panel re-spray :(

Otherwise, as Bignij says, a decent clean and you'll have a better idea of what's what.

For some of the more minor stuff a local chips away franchise might be able to sort them but make sure you do your research and look for reviews, some of these places are better than others.

I think I actually went to him the other day and he said not to repair it and just buy 2 new bumpers :(

Easy said.  But then those need painting, so go see a Painter and get a price for those to be made to look factory finish, or actually better

as some Factory Mk2 vRS finishes were poor.

Then find the price of 2 new bumpers and the painting.

Seeing the Front lip and the grill.

I think that might be a vRS i looked at for a member about 18 months back at Evans Halshaw in Glasgow.
