Check engine light (controle system for exhaust)

Recommended Posts

Happy Easter guys!

Yesterday I had a fault on a dashboard. Checking the manual it says it's control system for exhaust. We are away at my parent's house and I'm not sure will I be able to go back home. 200km trip.

Is it egr valve, or something else. My vcds is back home so I can't check it myself. Should I stay here until Tuesday and go to a local garage since monday is a holiday, or it's safe to go home. It's a 2010 3.6 fsi with 170000km on the clock.

I don't know much at all about the 3.6 but it seems that it's often a simple sensor fault rather than a more serious component failure that causes the warning lights to appear.

Just my random thoughts.  Hope you get home safely.
