Octavia VRS Mk3 Estate seat upgrade options

Featured Replies

Hi I have a mk3 estate and wants to upgrade the half leather seats for full leather.

can I put in seats from a 5 dr hatch ?

can I retro fit heated electric adjustable seats to a car that has standard seats?

or can I remove the seat bases and just swap those out , remembering the wiring for the airbags has to remain.

Any help would be appreciated as I really hate the standard seats the half cloth covering is really cheap and doesn't clean easily

and doesn't wear that well .its my only gripe with the car

I think it will be possible but it won’t be easy. I would also consider a retrim over a genuine leather interior as it’s not the best quality leather.

I can get a full set of leather seats from a car thats done 4000 miles for 700 and can get around 400 for mine

I just need to know if they will fit , surely someone has tried hatch seats in an estate they look identical .

but the rear seat could have different fastening points which is my worry

Think you’ll be ok on the rear seats regarding fixing points as they are the same. There’s a cover held on with a little Torx screw and when undone the seats just pull out. I don’t think the hatches have the seat releases in the boot though, but if you don’t mind losing those, should fit but please don’t quote me on that!

My Hatch has the remote Seat releases in the Boot. Used them on Saturday and thought how good they were.

Is that an option? I’m certain the SE-L hatch courtesy car I had didn’t have them. Seems some have it and some don’t. I think it’s an option on the Estate these days!

Either way, they probably won’t be in the same place as they are on the Estate as the boot is a very different shape. It’s a minor thing to work around though.

I didn't spec it as an option but it may be part of the vRS Spec I guess.

Come to think of it, could have been standard and then removed with the FL as my car is a 14 plate and the SE-L I had was a 67 plate.

Ok thanks I also need to know if I can just unbolt the front seats from the mountings and swap them over as the ones ive seen are electric and heated mine are the standard manual ones so would need to keep the bases or I can just the seats, unless there is a way I can get them wired in ( very doubtful )

I have it on my Facelift VRS Hatch so I think probably all the hatches have the boot release switch in the boot but as you say it's in a different location.

Did you do this and do they fit?
