Front headrests on SE - removable?

Featured Replies

As above. Was going to refit the coat hanger we had in the Yeti but the front headrests only seem to move up and down on the button, not remove altogether?

The manual only talks about the rears being removable.

It’s the modern way I think.

Too late to check again tonight, but I wonder if the rods are fixed, and the cushiony bit moves up and down on the rods?

Did anyone find a way to remove the front headrests? i am trying to fit seat covers and they wont go over the top, not without some serious cutting.

Alternatively anyone found decent fitting seat covers!?

cheers

I hope you have allowed for the fact that there are Air Bags within the seat backrest and that fitting seat covers do not compromise their operation?....Tony

There is a small recess, where you can unclip the headrest using a small flat screwdriver

SOLUTION FOUND!

Found this on another forum.

Although it is forKodiaq also works for Karoq. I hope it helps. Worked for me, as I wanted to fit after market seat covers. Search for the blue button ( it is inside the seat, so you will have to feel for it as you can’t actually see it)

On 2023 model the after market seat covers must be fitted with a means of sliding over the head reast as they cannot be removed. Lux-Ride as bought on Ebay have an opening that closes with Velcro for this purpose.  The three rear head rests are removable as above with a smalll flat screwdriver posted by Fabiagn.

What a shame the old method of hinged and removable rear seats are now dropped and seat fixed in place, with no level boot floor.

Best helpful video below, as diagrams not very clear, is for VAG vehicles: 1 Remove Iso plastic trims which require a flat screwdriver or bent M6 wire as described in the video. 2 Forcibly snatch up each front end to pull a wire clip on the seat underside out of a retainer in the chassis. 3 move the seat ends back and upward to release both ends. Seat belt clips will pull through.
