Poorly Octavia

Featured Replies

Hello hope you can help me with a little problem?

Currently I have the engine warning light (CEL?) iluminated on my 2002 Octavia VRS, it has been lit for a couple of days and although the car when running drives fine (even scared me on the A1 today  ), I would still like to find out why the light is on.

The only changes made recently to the car are a CAI and a Samco turbo inlet pipe, these have been on for two weeks and the car has run fine until the last two days. (Could the weather be to blame?) Another symptom is that when you start the car with no foot on the accelerator the car turns over longer than usual and when it does fire, the revs rise sharply to 2000rpm and then return slowly to tick over; this happens whether the engine is warmed or cold and it's never done this before the engine warning light appeared.

Anyway, any and all help really appreciated, expecially any offers from anyone with access to VAG com.

You've never let me down in the past so keep up the good work ;)

Anyone???

Josh PoloGTi lives between Chesterfield and Buxton and EddyH inPontefract/Leeds. Both have VAG-COM amd might be willing to help. Why not PM them if they are close enough to you?

With the engine idling, have a good listen with the engine covers removed. It could be a vacuum hose - if it is you'll hear it hissing.
