I coded HBA and TSR on my 2016 vRS 18 months or so ago. Both work perfectly.

 

I never use Lane Assist and so have it switched off permanently. The other day (whilst waiting for the missus, as you do!), I was going through the car setup menu on the Amundsen head unit, and found that when I press on Driver assistance:

 

 

 

I get this message:

 

 

What could be the issue?

 

Lane assist is the only option available in the MFD menu (and works fine when activated, I just have no use for it!), should I be seeing more?:

 

 

 

 

Any ideas?

Was it still unavailable when the engine was on?

 

On a slightly related note, I assumed the HBA would appear in the maxidot menu as well, but mine doesn’t (has been self activated using OBDeleven).  Didn’t like it on my test run anyway so don’t use it.  Meh.

Exactly the same when engine is on.

 

Re HBA - I live on an unlit B road and find it works really well. Only occasionally it gets caught out and dips when it picks up a reflection on a road sign, or a floodlight on a house at a particular angle in the distance.

 

Once or twice it has been momentarily indecisive and 'flashed' full beam when following another vehicle - that could be embarrassing...

 

Other than that, it reacts quicker than I could in 99% of instances. 

I have an FL SEL with HBA and Front Assist from the factory and I think only the FA is in that menu, from what I remember HBA is only in the lighting menu. 

The Maxidot is showing correctly, only lane assist will show in driver assistance menu. HBA isn’t configured over the Maxidot (a glaring omission IMO) and TSR is under the driving data tab. Why the function isn’t available on the stereo I don’t know!
