Hi all

 

As posted previously, VRS Diesel coming early May. Currently have 17 plate Insignia SRI until delivery which has no mats. Given that we stay on working farm with hundreds of cattle and sheep, carpets are getting very grubby even with vacuuming. Does VRS come with mats or do I need to buy some?

Mine had vRS branded mats when delivered and I didn’t add them as an option. March 1 Delivery

You can buy Skoda fitted rubber mats for £50 ish... Worth it, IMHO

Cheers for that! Will hang fire on buying any in interim and likewise, didnt spec them (didnt see them as option tbh!)

Yeah,  they do come with a set.

 

I know you can get products such as scotch brite to seal the carpets and help prevent them getting stained if you didn't want to have rubber mats in there. I done the fitted carpets (the bit the mats sit on) when I bought the car just to give a bit extra protection, as the mats only cover so much. Any water goes on there and it beads off and any mucks just stays on top and hoovers away.

 

Done that on the boot upholstery as well with me taking track day bits in the back. 

 

Would be worth having a look at doing that, in case a cow pat accidentally ends up on your wellies!!!

+1. I got myself a set of tailored rubber mats off fleabay and they're great. If they get dirty, a quick hose down and you're done.

 

I also got a rubber boot floor liner as well.

Tbh, £50 to help protect a £20,000 investment isn't a lot...

The Skoda mats are as thin as tracing paper from my experience. I bought rubber mats for my Citigo when new, fancied a change from rubber and put the carpet mats in for a week over summer and there are now big marks where my feet were, in just a week of use! First thing I bought for the Octy were the rubber mats. That said, I would like a new drivers carpet for the Octy as it’s missing and that bothers me haha

The rubber mats are really good - fit right to the edge and are dished, so they contain anything that they catch
