Skoda Octavia 1.9TDI, refusing to start following fuel filter change

Featured Replies

I have changed the fuel filter on my Octavia 1.9TDI (asv) and its now refusing to start. Car ran perfectly well prior to changing filter. Upon changing fuel filter engine started and ran for approximately 1 minute and then cut out, I have been unable to start since. My local garage have been around and have 'primed' the system but alas its still not starting.

Any suggestions/comment would be much appreciated.

I had the same problem with my old Fabia, I now have Octavia Mk 1, my local garage told me, after I got sick of recharging battery and jumping it that the best way is to tow it in 2nd or 3rd gear sometimes up to a mile to pull the diesel through the system. It worked perfectly for me, only took a 100yds or so, keep the ignition on and like a bump start allow the car to get moving before releasing clutch slowly. Good luck
