Hi new member here, I have a mk2 Superb estate with a rear passenger door problem, the child lock is on but a fault has occurred, I think, with the emergency locking system on that door, the result is the door cannot be opened. Has anyone had this fault or any ideas to fix, help appreciated.

Hi yes just the o/s rear and will not open from outside, I noticed that the emergency button was loose, so I should not have put the child lock on bad move!, thanks for your reply

Success! I have released the child lock, I managed to remove the door panel with the aid of made-up narrow bladed lever, I was then hoping to somehow release the lock from inside the door, but no-go ! Then I decided to try to access the child lock turn button from inside, I loosened the seat side bolster and pulled out the weather strip and I was able to see the button, with a bent screwdriver I was able to release it , JOY ! The door now opens from the inside and the outside, but when the door is locked it will only release from the inside, once opened it can be open from outside, until it is locked. The emergency lock button does not seem to make any difference, does any member know how to sort this ? But it may just be a fault in the lock.
