Can I disable the low brake pad wear indicator warning lamp

Featured Replies

Hi,

Is it possible to temporary disable the low brake pad wear indicator warning lamp without VAG-COM?

I mistakenly bought a pad without wear indicator and then realised my car was fitted with one. Wish to keep the new pad.

Thanks

Short the pins of the connector that the pad would plug into with something. Ideally with some waterproofing so you could use it again in future.

Or, cut off the lead from the old pad, strip and twist its wires together and seal the exposed ends - and leave, (if not yet removed) or re-fit the lead from the old pad back into the car side connector.

... Just don't forget you have done this. You may expect a warning next time around and not get it!
