VRS Estate - sitting lower at the rear?

Featured Replies

Will try and post a pic later but is it normal for the VRS Estate to have less of an arch gap at the back, making it appear to sit a little lower at the back?

I've noticed it since I got mine. Had a quick look and springs all look normal and undamaged. No noises either.

Do they all just have a slight rear down stance?

My 1.6 seems to sit lower as well. I assume it's normal, although I do have quite a bit of gear in the boot.

When my 1.4TSI Combi looks like that, it's because I have 6 backs of grit and a couple of bags of compost in it.

Other VRS Combi owners may give more relevant advice.

My petrol dsg vrs estate has a larger arch gap at the front. I believe the sills are level it's just the front arch is higher slightly when measured from the ground.

Will be fitting some eibach prokit springs shortly which lower 10mm rear and 20mm front which should go someway to improve the appearance.

My 2017 vRS hatch also sits lower at the rear. It’s actually quite a nice height. Front is to high though imo. It’s a lease so I’ll be doing heehaw about it.

Mine has equal gaps front and rear. Unless I go to the garden centre.:)

im perfectly level with H&R springs, even with a couple of dead bodies in the back.

Mine sits lower at the back, but the sills are level and it royally annoys me. I’m looking at lowering a touch, but as it’s a daily I don’t want anything too low.

stock wheels and springs perfectly level

Sills level but front arch looks to have a much bigger gap than rear to me.

measured before and after H&R springs which level it out even better than stock

Great, looks like the arch gaps being different is normal then.
