New owner after some advice/P0299 code

Featured Replies

Hello all, first time poster here.

I recently purchased a 2008 Octavia VRS estate (170pd) in white.

About 4 days after i got it i was driving home and my intake manifold hose (i think its this, located just before the ASV and EGR) popped off. I noticed some oil inside the pipe and also noticed the asv to be slighty caked up. The day after the car went into limp mode. CEL on the dashboard.  This happend around 60mph on the M1. I havent had a CEL since but i have noticed the car to be down on power at times and a little hesitant whilst in the low RPM's.

I am no mechanic but i work as an engineer and i love tinkering with things so this evening i decided to whip off the ASV and EGR and give them a clean. Refitted everything and got somebody to rev the engine to make sure there was no leaks. I did notice a small amout of air escaping from the  intake manifold hose. Unoticable unless you put your hands near to feel it. I drove the car to a friends who has VCDS to do a scan. On the drive the car felt good, pulled really strong from around 2200 RPM. I did the scan and the only fault that wont clear is;

Readiness: N/A

Struggling to find a definitve solution to the above fault code. Could this in anyway be linked to the aforementioned air leak. The car is under warranty, but it could be easier to just do the work myself.

TIA

if a small amount is leaking whilst you're under there (bonnet)  you can bet under load,  there is a load more.
