£74.96...

Recommended Posts

Just booked the bus in for a service at a local skoda service center, I am happy with the £159 fixed cost and chuffed with the £99 brake fluid change and air con service but....

£74.96 for a fuel filter change :o

Now obviously if the filter was hidden in the depths of the engine bay covered over with the undertray and protected by a angry tiger I would understand but its right in front of you secured by 5 bolts

Am I missing something especially when I can buy a filter from ECP for about £20?

Why not buy it and do the work yourself then? Can understand if a warranty is at question but if you plan to keep the car surely saving some cash with stuff like this is worth while?

I'd be happy to challenge a warranty engineer on my ability to set a bolt tonthe right torque.

Dealers lose so much work by doing this. As soon as mine are out of warranty everything comes from Opie or the local car parts shop and I can do it in far less time than the entire day the dealer needs the car for. Brake pad and disc replacement prices are absurd for such an easy and quick job, especially on the front.
