Octavia ambient lights retrofit? (Not FL)

Hi all!

So I always wanted ambient lights in my car since I saw one in Mercedes. Since Škoda didn't bring this option until FL model I cant have this. Also I don't like Škoda's solution in FL.

I would wish ambient light was under door trim instead, not on it.

So finally I found something that might work out!

I stumble upon this video.

But I am no car expert when it comes to wiring. I know basics about electronics . So I know I need 12V power source.

But to control brightness over MIB I this LED ambient lights need to be connected to foot-well so I can control the brightness from the menue.

Q: Does any one know how could this be done? Where could I take the wire to door.

Any help is appreciated.

For now this is idea for brainstorming. After we figure it out I might order one and try doing this on my car. I would make how to video for all of you!
