Suspension changes advice?

Featured Replies

I everyone, just looking for some quick answers if anybody can help?

I have ordered some B4 sport dampers and Eibach pro 20mm springs for front and rear.

With the VRS already being lowered will I get an additional 20mm so whatever the VRS is, say 15mm + 20mm = 35mm lower or does it work like 20mm - 15mm = 5mm lower?

Also I didn't order any top mounts, I'd like to replace these as well front and rear, can anybody please recommend or link directly to the ones I need please? Suspension isn't my strong point!

I think it works like so,

VRS is let’s say 20mm lower than standard octavia so if you order 50mm lowering springs you’ll get a 30mm drop.  Unless you order springs specifically for a VRS then you’ll get the quoted drop.

I’ve just ordered Audi TT top mounts from AwesomeGTI.

The eibach pro 20mm I ordered I think are specific for the VRS but have no idea what I am going to get drop wise.

I keep seeing a couple of variations on the top mounts so that is throwing me off too...

I am sorting some Sachs front and rear strut mounts. It does look like the VRS is 15-20mm lower from factory so 20mm lowered Eibach pro will either give me a 5mm lower ride or none at all. I wish it was a bit clearer!

*EDIT*

Well one guy on facebook is telling me these springs won't lower the car but the supplier is telling me thet will as they are specifically designed for the VRS. I'm lost haha

Thanks :)

Did you ever get to the end of this?

I am taking my old man's VRS off his hands later in the year and have been trying to figure out if these springs would actually make a height difference?

Cheers

Hi yes I did.

Basically Eibach pro springs will give you the drop the advertise so mine were eibach pro 20mm and I got a further 20mm which means the VRS sits lower than the standard Octavia by 35mm.

Now other spring manufacturers mostly give a standard specification so if they are 40mm springs for example you would end up with a 25mm drop. VRS has 15mm lowered springs already.

You get whats on the tin with Eibach!
