ABS Sensor/ECU problems

Featured Replies

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can give us a bit of advice.

We took our Skoda to a garage due to our ABS sensor lights regularly coming on. they replaced the rear sensors (with 3rd party sensors) but this didn't work, so they replaced the sensor rings,  then the car broke down at the garage completely! .

They eventually sent off the ECU to a Skoda dealer who have said that the ECU needs replacing and will cost over two grand!

The garage say that the ECU breaking  was not connected to any work they did and was just coincidental.

Just wondering what other users would do in this situation?

Thanks!

Might be adding some more information about your car. What year, engine and trim is it?

It's not uncommon for cars with MK60 ABS units to fail, they can be fixed at a fraction of the £2000 you've mentioned though. You can also look at used ABS pumps which may be cheaper.

Without seeing what fault codes are coming up, it's hard to confirm if the ABS pump has failed.

Same as above, get an autoscan done to see exactly what the fault is :)

If that is flashing I had the same and changed the abs mod with a used one and the light gone
