Mmmm the fault was very apparent once the car had been driven on the motorway i had the memory cleared twice and the emissions light came on fairly quickly once you tried to kickdown the gearbox, and give it some beans as it were, i am pretty sure given the timescales, that the car wouldn't have been repaired  prior to the current owner having it, other than maybe having the fault memory cleared again.

Just to update. Got my money back after about a week and a half of them having the car. The car needed a cam kit. Don't see how they only checked this after selling the vehicle!

  • and if they don't go down the full disclosure route, just message eBay support with a link to this thread.

So the current seller:

1.  Knew about the problems when taking the car and has promptly fixed them but doesn't want to scare prospective buyers with a tale of woe.  Though, I find this unlikely in that some major repair/maintenance work is usually something you would usually use as a positive e.g; "we've just spent £££'s on this car, so you don't have to"

2.  knows far well theres a catalogue of issues with this car and at best has reset the fault codes to try and pull a fast one.

Either way, it doesn't bode well for any perspective/future buyer.

Yes that's right, but there may be a third scenario where simply the seller  just dosn't know about the issues  if they hadnt been disclosed beforehand, doubtless this will be used as a defence again further down the line.

Ah fair one but I was under the impression from yours and others that the faults usually manifest themselves without too much provocation.

Too true, i don't know why i am trying to defend these aholes, it's just in my nature too try and see the good in people.... bloody crooks LOL.😁
