215 45 16 on mk2

Featured Replies

Hello,

On my fabia mk2 I have 205 45 16 OEM dim on ibiza 7J 16 ET 43 alloy. As you know 6.5 J 16 ET 43 is mk2 OEM size. On my second fabia mk2 which is the same model I would like to put also the same alloy wheels from ibiza cupra but 215 45 16 as from the fabia mk3 tyre size. Would there be any problems? This is just 1 cm wider tyre with 5 mm thicker wall... so 215 instead of 205. Everything other ia the same

Hi, I wouldn't of thought ud have any clearance issues.

I have the 205's on mine (estate) & seems fair bit of room all round them.

U could try finding wots the biggest combination Skoda fitted as standard & c how the dimensions compare to ur 215's.

Failing that, if u have them ready to go on, fit them, check around them when uv got the steering on full lock both ways.

Look at ur gaps between any suspension parts & inner arches.

Check distance u have around the wheel arches visualising the suspension compressing couple of inches.

...Also, check when doing an emergency stop as they may start touching things, specially if you have wheels angled!
