Retro fit

Featured Replies

Gents,

My dad has just bought a month old 18 reg kodiaq but it's lacking a few creature comforts...

He's got a 190 edition dsg...

He wants ...

Front parking sensors

Active cruise control

Road sign recognition

Any thoughts....

Thanks,

Scott

Aftermarket only. Don't think you're going to be able to get the factory ones retrofitted.

Comes as standard on the Edition... so he should have it already.

VCDS should be able to enable this.

I think its got the camera for active cruise control but that just runs the city breaking, or what ever its called. Active Cruise was a £300 extra that wasnt ticked on his car, like the £250 front parking sensors.

It's been done on the MK7 Golf and MK3 Superb/Octavia, the platform should be pretty similar so I'd be surprised if this wasn't possible.

A quick of google showed this http://www.carsystems.pl/skoda-kodiaq-ns7-park-pilot-front-upgrade-w-ops-3q0919294a,id2824.html which is promising.

Yep motor mods suggested that it was possible to fit oem with display, but is was something like £750+vat........

Sorry, you're right... (but not about a camera - it's a radar unit in the front grille!) I'm sure retrofitting it is possible - but as it involves a separate stalk on the steering wheel, not sure it would be a particularly cheap option.

Out of curiosity, if these were things your dad wanted, why did he buy a car without them?

Sounds about right.

Retrofitting isn't always good value when compared to options, especially on newer cars where parts are still expensive :)

I think the car was there, it had the pan roof and tow bar that he wanted... it was only 4 or 6 weeks old and he (maybe more so mum) didn't want to have a loan that skoda were offering good discounts on, even though i said take the loan and pay it off early.
