Locking wheel-nuts

Featured Replies

I've just bought a second hand 64 plate Citigo from a Skoda dealer. Of all the things I checked -I forgot to check that the locking wheel-nut key was with the car -it wasn't. I've just had a look at my other half's 17 plate Yeti and her locking wheelnut key seems to be the correct one for the Citigo: Is this just a freeky coincidence or are there only a very few different patterns that Skoda use?

I'll be ringing the dealer on Monday and getting them to send me one anyway

There's thousands of different types of locking wheel nuts so I'd be very surprised if they were the same. Give the dealer a ring tomorrow and they should have it, they would of checked your car over before handing it over to you and I'd imagine taking the wheels off and checking behind the wheel would be in their checklist.

The dealer replaced the front brake discs and tyres prior to sale - so probably left the key in the workshop - The Key from the Yeti (stamped 'N') is definitely the right one. Both cars have the factory supplied original wheel-nuts as far as I know

There's only 20 different VAG wheel bolt keys, so it's a fair chance that you just happen to have 2 cars with the same key.

I'd guess the same key. We have Skoda's and fords at work and I'd say as long we have 5-10 of the same vehicle then at least two of those cars will have matching LWN
