Multple-disc albums on SD card

Featured Replies

Hi all. I have a 2017 Octavia with an Amundensen unit. I like ripping my CDs onto the SD and doing all of the MP3 tagging in a fab piece of PC freeware called MP3Tag.

My issue is this... where an album has multiple discs (increasingly common with re-releases these days) if I tag the tracks as one single album, the Amundsen plays the first one from the first disc, then the first off the second disc. Rather than all on the first and all on the second.

What ways are there around this problem? Does anyone know the precise order in which the Amundsen plays tracks? Is it on filename or track tags?

Thank you

I also use MP3Tag. Your problem is that the playing order is determined firstly by the track number, then the album number so it will go A1/T1, A2/T1, A1/T2, A2/T2 etc. This is easily resolved in MP3Tag by editing the track numbers for the second album so that they continue after the first album track numbers. For example, if the first album has tracks 1-12, then highlight album 2 track 1 and change the track number to 13, and so on.

This is what I do also.

On mine (Columbus but I think it will be the same on yours) I label the discs when ripping. That way I can skip to the second disc more easily via the infotainment screen.

Just noticed you are using mp3tag. I use exact audio copy as it lets me convert the audio to flac.
