I have an opportunity to buy a used 2014 1.2 tsi Octavia with 66k km. After testing I was really pleasantly surprised by how smooth the drive was,

 

My question is whether this model has the cam chain or cam belt?

 

I ask this because upon opening to bonnet for inspection whilst the engine was running it made very similar sounds this video:

 

It is being sold with a 6 month guarantee but I would prefer it to be a belt considering the problems with the chain I have been hearing about.

110PS 16V is belt.

All 1.2TSI in the Octavia 5e are EA211 16v, so belt. The chain 8v fitted to earlier Rapids never made it to this generation of Octavia.

It's a belt. The difference between the MY15 105 and MY16 110 TSI was just a tweak for new Euro 6 emissions regulations.
