is it going to work?

Featured Replies

i bought a key off of ebay to use on my car and in the description he very clearly stated it was 434mhz but when it got here i had a look and its actually 433.92mhz

is a difference of .08mhz going to make a difference?

if so then its going back to the seller and a refund demanded due to false advertising.

Forgive me if I'm asking the obvious here - but have you tried it?

not yet as my laptop is still broken so no vag-com shenanigans going on yet and it obviously won't work until it gets re-kerjigered.

I believe the Mhz difference will be negligible to be honest. There were 2 frequencies on ETOS - I believe it said 433.92 and 315 or something. So with only 2 frequences I believe its a safe bet - as long as your car isn't a 315 one. I have one of these keys as well, and praying the vRS frequency for 04 cars is 433.92 as well. :D

Hell, for ยฃ25 if it works just as an ignition key. I'll be happy. :)

well my original key says 434mhz and the other key i bought from ebay which is from an octavia is also 434mhz. hopefully it will be fine

Next daft question - is it just a new flip key body ?

Assuming you got them from the same person as me (poland? ;)) I couldn't fathom out the A4 sheet was saying. Rather it came from someone who wasn't writing with a Polish accent. :D

I dont have a dog.

 Ahem - any chance you can point me in the general direction of the central convenience ECU please mate? And don't say straight up as in.... :finger::D

The difference between the stated frequency and the frequency it actually is at is so minute it won't make a difference. Every stated frequency of a RF device is the center frequency and covers a small band of frequencies from lower end to higher end on the frequency spectrum, for example, if the stated freq. of your key is 434MHz, then it could be covering freqs. starting from say 432MHz to 436MHz....for it to actually work only on a specific frequency, it would be a bloody expensive key as the manufacturer will have to work on designing a bloody tight notch filter.

Don't worry :)

they are quite expensive though, to buy a new key from a skoda dealer is about ยฃ150
