Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but I've found you can do a limited amount of customisation of the "Home" screen on the Columbus unit. You can't change the big map panel on the left, but the 2 smaller panels on the right can be changed to show different things. Mine was configured as telephone on top and media underneath, but you can change these to vehicle data, driving data, navigation etc. To make the change you have to press and hold the small icon in the top left corner of the small panel ("A" in the diagram). After a few seconds it will present you with a list of options. Its all in the manual of course, p132 in the UK version.

I could have sworn I'd seen it before I got my car, but I haven't been able to find it since... and so I haven't changed my home screen yet. Will have to do that tomorrow!

 

It's been annoying the crap out of me that the small boxes were useless once you started using CarPlay.

I got really excited when I read this and realised you could change them. It's great to have a choice. Shame the driving data bit only shows time/distance travelled instead of showing MPG or oil temp etc. 

I thought the same JamesDevon - I was after MPG too.  I've settled for sat nav data (shows two next moves, rather than the three in the split screen sat nav option) and Music - 

 

 

Yeah that's what I think I'll go with. I did try vehicle info but doesn't do much (unless somethings broken) not sure about images but doesn't work on mine

True, but it also acts as a shortcut to the full driving data screen.

Yeah that is true. Better this. Having to go through the menu 

Damn you all! I'm now going to have to play with the Columbus again lol
