Octavia 1.9 tdi....car shudders the stops,  car turns over but wont start,,after a month of tryin it started and went 2 weeks and done the same again except it was 24 hours before car started......doin my head in so any ideas on it would be really helpfull ....thanks

2010 tdi.....pd engine.. .100bhp....actually dont much about mechanical stuff....

first port of call would be the anti-shudder valve   if it's vac operated  (has a plastic pipe to it)  it can be flicked open by hand but sounds like a manifold and egr clean needed --if electric they have been known to fail and may need replacing        do a search on EGR valves
