06' VRS Stream Upgrade - AUX In

Featured Replies

Hi,

After trawling through threads for the last few days I'm still not sure what route I can take.

All I really want is something modern looking with an AUX in so I can connect my phone to play music.

I've had touch screens, gps etc before but honestly after a week I don't use it so not having the extra options doesn't worry me.

Ideally Double din but single would be fine as long as its plug and play.

I have the basic stream,no parking sensors or steering controls.

Budget is €200 and ideally less.

I was looking at this https://www.halfords.ie/technology/car-audio/car-stereos/pioneer-mvh-av290bt-car-stereo

It would give the option of adding AUX and using the BL for music either.

Any help

Thanks

Dan

if you have a mk2 with a jumbo box there is an aux in under the arm rest, why not use that ?

Buy a used MP3 Stream for about £40? Buy a 3.5mm jack plug and pins and use the Aux in with your phone or MP3 player. I do this though I suspect a pin has dropped out at one channel buzzes with no output.

If it an older car they had non MP3 Stream players without an Aux in as mine did.

Update:  it was the 3.5mm jack to phono plug cable that had gone bad. Swapped it out and buzzing on L channel has gone. Nice simple fix. For once!!

Think I will do this, it seems like too much hassle to do it any other way.

Thanks for the reply
