Climatronic error code 4FA 00

Featured Replies

My climatronic has not been blowing in icy air at al and very little cool air. I ran the diagnostic and I was  getting an error code relating to a fault in the blower flap and another about the pressure switch IIRC (I can't remember the exact codes). The mechanic went to fix it today and said the new pressure switch I had bought didn't fit but the was said the fan was not being allowed to blow in cold air so he worked at it and asked me to try it for a day or so to see if it has been rectified. I can hear a difference in how the fan is operating but now i'm getting a 4FA 00. Has anyone ever come across this and is it a *******s to fix?

This might help?

Several threads about it - Search for ' Recirc Flap Motor'.

It's a common fault, although I haven't yet found any solutions in the threads. I've a good 4 pages of threads still to read through, yet...!

Not sure if your issue is the same as mine, however just in case.....

YA

Well, I'm on the search too, now, as I no longer get iced air whatsoever. I only get cooler air if the car has been sat in the shade, which is of no use if I park at work.

It's been suggested that I need to recharge the gas, but I only got that done last year. No way should it need recharging, unless there's a leak somewhere... and I'm guessing there's no fault code for that?

Leak-tested, all clean. Whacked it on the RossTech and got 01274, CFB...

Guess I'll be doing the Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor...

Did you do an output test on the motor first while you had VCDS on it?.

Sometimes the flap can become unsynced from the rest of the motors and show the error, doing an output test and basic setting will force the motor to resync if it can.

It may sort your issue for no outlay, must be worth a try?.

We've got RossTech on it right now and is doing some output tests. Chap thinks it's the compressor, as it kicks in when I switch from ECON to normal, but then cuts out when you rev the engine...

I have no idea what any of that computery stuff means.
